Yeti features the very latest in engine and transmission technology - offering an all-turbo
powerplant line-up for the first time. Five engines are available - three petrol and two
diesel - with outputs ranging between 105-170PS.
All units are transversely mounted and drive through either a five-speed or
six-speed manual gearbox or an optional seven-speed DSG transmission.
Yeti is also available with an advanced four-wheel drive system incorporating a
fourth-generation Haldex clutch.
The 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI diesel engines are common rail units acknowledged to be
smoother, quieter, more efficient and cleaner than the Pumpe Düse engines they replace.
Both diesel engines are available with four-wheel drive.
Complementing the diesel line-up are three state-of-the-art petrol engines - featuring
direct injection. The turbocharged 1.2 TSI 105PS engine is available with a seven-speed DSG
transmission, the 1.4 TSI develops 122PS, while the 1.8 TSI 160PS engine which is already
fitted to the Octavia and Superb, is available with four-wheel drive.
